We do not offer hosting for other designers or for sites you develop yourself. Why? To keep our support costs low & give our customers the one on one attention they deserve.
We started offering hosting in order to offer our clients the best hosting at reasonable rates along with your newly designed website.Years ago we became increasingly frustrated with trying to develop on inadequate servers which took up extra time and cost our clients more to deal with. The #1 reason I offer hosting is the numerous problems we have run into with servers chosen by the client.
Fascination Design is a value added reseller of hosting. Your servers are NOT being run out of a local basement. We handpick and screen our hosting choices to make sure you’re getting tier one servers, proper emergency protection, backups, and fast speeds.
Additional Fascination Design Hosting Benefits:
- All the perks of Gmail but with yourname@youdomain.com addresses: We split our e-mail from our hosting servers and run it through Google’s servers using Google Apps. You get all the perks like advanced spam filtering, excellent up-time and mobility features such as browser based interface as well as iphone and blackberry support.
- Monitoring & Alerts: We monitor and receive alerts anytime anything major changes with the servers. Alerts are sent to us via email and text message so we can take action if needed immediately anytime day or night. We can often get to and correct server problems faster than the tech support at the hosting company and we have full access to do so.
- Team of specialists: There is an additional level of monitoring at the hosting level. Rest assured, there are a team of people able to take care of server problems if, for example, we are in an area with bad cell phone reception, or if we need an extra pair of eyes to troublshoot a problem. You are NOT relying on one sleepless person to do it all.
- Software updates monitoring: we watch to see if your software such as WordPress or Drupal (including plugins) are out of date, exploited with malware, or even blacklisted – so you don’t have to. Update information will be outlined in greater detail in your project sheet.
- Basic traffic stats e-mailed monthly: We do offer more advanced statistics options as well but all of our hosting accounts are set up to e-mail the basic information (the number of unique visitors to your site) each month. For additional details visit our Stats & Analytics page.
Fascination Design’s Hosting Packages typically range from $100-$200 per year.
- If you choose not to host your newly designed site with Fascination Design, your hosting choice or servers must be vetted and reviewed by us. We may reject certain companies based on your site needs or even our previous experiences with them.
- OR we can build your site on our staging server and provide you with the files to install yourself. We do not offer any support or update plans for DIY installations however.
