We don’t believe in one size fits all.
But we’ve created systems and checklists to speed up some of the process.
Efficiency meets customized, tailored solutions specifically for your business.
All Projects:
Initial contact: Contact Fascination Design and set up a phone meeting (or in person if you’re in Lexington KY.)
- Meeting: up to 1 hour on the house. No contracts, no commitment, no heavy sales pitch. During the initial meeting we will review your business, your project or website goals, the look and feel that you are aiming for, as well as let you get to know and ask any questions you might have about Fascination Design.
- Project Sheet: our project sheet doubles as an estimate and checklist. What we’ll address with the project sheet is anything that is specific to your business, the look and feel of the design, content or general structure and what the next steps for your project will be. If there is printing or out of pocket expenses that exceed the down-payment, those may also be requested at a specific point and noted in the estimate.
- Signature, Down-payment & some Initial Content: once we receive the signed project sheet and down-payment we’ll start work on your site. Initial text and images should also be provided at this time (or prior.) We can use filler text instead but it usually works out better if we have some real text to work with.
Typical next steps for Websites:
- Mood Board: For smaller sites we will simply ask you for some designs you like and dislike as well as what you like about each. This will give a general overview of the look and feel for a site. For larger more elaborate sites we will collect existing images and elements and organize these in a collage-like format to give an overall feel for the direction we’ll be taking your site. Clients may choose to more actively participate in this process by collecting images themselves or working with us collaboratively via pinterest and mural.ly.
- Mock-up: You’ll be presented with an image that will show how your site will look. This mock-up image will be sent to you for revision and approval and will become the basis for your site design. This is not a pixel for pixel representation of what your site will be but is fairly close.
- Initial Implementation: Implementation often includes base WordPress installation, template development (the code version of the Photoshop mock-up), and adding the initial content (text and images.)
- Client Review: You will be sent a link to review your site or a video walkthrough and let us know if there are any minor changes you would like to make.
- Implement any minor changes, apply browser bug fixes, and re-test: We utilize “graded” browser support. This means that the site will look very similar but not identical across all operating system and browser combinations but the goal is for the site to remain usable, accessible and attractive. To accomplish this, we review your site in the most popular browsers and adjust the code to make it functionally identical. These browsers represent 98% of your potential viewers:
- Windows: Internet Explorer, FireFox, Chrome, Safari (current versions)
- Mac: FireFox, Chrome, Safari (current versions)
- Mobile: iphone, ipad, android
- Additional Browsers: If you wish for us to test and adjust for additional browsers and configurations, additional time is required and not included in our base estimate for your site.
- Take Live: Once live the site will be available at your domain name (dot com) directly, search engines will be able to pick it up and you will be sent login information so you can start editing and adding to the site as well.
- Search Engine Submission: We will submit the site to the following search engines: Google.com, Bing, Yahoo, and dmoz.org (additional search engines and marketing can be address in a separate quote if requested.)
- Final Payment: Once the site is completed you will need to make the remaining payment and your site is done! (IF outside hosting is used, this will be requested before the site is taken live.)
